Moroccan children’s go-carts
In August 2005 a few boys from the small Moroccan town Sidi Ifni, located at the Atlantic coast about 150 km south of Agadir, did show me how they create a go-cart.
The right and freedom at the road
We like the Handmade Go-cart Club because we are aware of:
* the importance of quality play as a central part of an happy childhood which is essential to the development of children, acknowledging the role of risk, experiential learning and autonomy in children's live; 
* children deserve the access to safe and friendly places in life, enabling them to explore their surroundings, develop new skills and friendships, and take possession of their environment, contributing to the society's evolution.
We designed the Club to:
support outdoor play through children’s and families’ go-cart making activities, stimulating social skills and team working skills within the framework of cultural differences, building a balanced approach to risk;
stimulate children’s participation through expressing their views about play activity in the city, reclaiming their right to use public spaces, such as city roads and squares, supporting local projects such as Home Zones and Street Party;
fire children’s imagination and knowledge of Child Friendly Cities, which are inclusive and welcoming places for children, increasing their awareness of the importance of a more sustainable lifestyle in more inclusive public places where they can express their childhood, within the UNICEF international concept of Child Friendly Cities.
