The Handmade Go-cart Club as a playful way to make people aware of the importance of living in Child Friendly Cities

Lorenzo and Francesco go down a little hill in HydePark, both of them are on the same Green Go-Cart In May 2007 I started a collaboration with Camden Green Fair Organisation, running go-cart making workshops for families in three different community centres (Kentish Town City Farm, Calthorpe Community Garden and Maiden Lane Community Centre), culminating with a final go-cart playing activity at the Fair. filing the axle-hub

Despite living in a risk averse society, the project took off and people were really enthusiastic to involve children in a full, hands-on activity, which requires the use of real hand tools to make big wheeled wooden toys.
